Group Classes

Puppy Socialization Class

Playful Pawz is absolutely committed to and fully understands the need for puppy socialization. This provides the foundation for a well behaved, socially interactive, happy and healthy adult dog. If you are thinking of getting a new puppy, you and your new best friend will benefit tremendously from this program.

Puppies in this class must be between 8 weeks and 4 months of age and must have received their second round of vaccinations from a licensed vet a minimum of 5 days prior to entering the program. The critical socialization period for puppies ends at about 4 months of age. During this time a puppy is at the stage when he is receptive to learning and his view of the world is easily shaped. In this class your puppy will be exposed to other puppies while being introduced to new objects, sounds and environments, all in a positive manner. These positive experiences will help your puppy adapt better to new future encounters.

At Your Door Home Training

$75 per visit
45-60 minutes plus progress report/homework

Most problems clients have with their dog are typically in their own home. Scheduling a private lesson each time can be a little difficult due to work and kid schedules so we have created a program that eliminates this problem by scheduling in home training while you are at work, running errands or just out and about. We do ask, however, that the first session be done with you and the trainer to discuss goals and expectations and the final session with you and the trainer to go over the details of what was taught and homework to maintain the training. Please call our Customer Service Representatives to schedule your first session in your home!

Life Skills Camp

Although it is completely up to you on which program to enroll your dog in, our trainers are here to help guide you on picking the absolute best option for your dog. In extreme cases our trainers can see that a dog would not do well in a lodging environment. Please understand that we want your dog to succeed. If he/she is too anxious to participate in a camp, our trainer will work with you on alternatives options.

Things to know before enrolling:

  • All dogs who enroll in our Life Skills Camp must be fully vaccinated by a licensed Veterinarian at least 10 days prior to the start date.
  • Dogs must be at least 6 months old in order to participate in any of the Life Skills Camp options.
  • A consult with a trainer is required in order to discuss goals, expectations and other details.
  • Visits are encouraged while your dog is here training. We ask that you coordinate this through your trainer beforehand.

1 Week Follow-Up

This 5 day follow-up camp is strictly for those dogs who have already gone through a training course with us in the past and the client is looking to brush up specific commands the dog already knows.

2 Week Foundation Course

This course includes basic, on leash commands such as sit, down, walk politely on leash, wait at all doors and curbs, leave-it, drop-it, stay in short duration and come when called in a controlled environment. We will also address behavior concerns like jumping, mouthing, digging and chewing.

3 Week Intermediate Course

This course is focused on duration, distraction and distance. Commands include all of the ones in the foundation course along with come with distractions, longer stays with further distance and distractions, polite heeling on either left or right side, go-to-bed, kennel up (where applicable), load up, give and easy. We can also address behavioral issues like not loading up in the car, barking/whining, jumping, nipping, etc.

Advanced, Off-Leash Course

This course is for the dog ready to go all out. Once finished, your dog will be trained completely in on and off leash obedience with the knowledge and understanding of all the commands listed here. The amount of time will vary depending on the dog so your assigned trainer will stay in constant contact with you throughout the course and schedule progression visits so you stay in the loop the entire time.
